Location: Northamptonshire
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: Main/Upper Pay Scale (£34,822+ depending on experience)
Start Date: August 2026

About the Role

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a high-performing and forward-thinking secondary school in Northamptonshire to recruit a Teacher of English & Drama for an August 2026 start.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and creative teacher to inspire students through both literature and performance. You will play a key role in delivering engaging lessons that bring texts, language, and drama to life—encouraging students to think critically, communicate confidently, and express themselves creatively.

From analysing classic and modern texts to supporting students in performance and drama-based learning, you will help develop essential skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in English and Drama across Key Stages 3–5
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated schemes of work
  • Inspire a love of reading, writing, and performance
  • Support students of all abilities to achieve strong academic and creative outcomes
  • Use innovative and creative teaching approaches to enhance learning
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities such as drama productions and clubs
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it (ECTs welcome)
  • Experience or strong subject knowledge in both English and Drama
  • A passion for literature, language, and the performing arts
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching
  • Commitment to student progress and wellbeing
