Job description

Teacher of Design and Technology (Full-Time / Part-Time)

Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-Time or Part-Time | Permanent (flexible working considered)
Start Date: As soon as possible / September start

We are seeking a creative, forward-thinking Teacher of Design and Technology to join a thriving secondary school in Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who can inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 depending on experience.

The Role

  • Teach Design and Technology across KS3 and KS4 (specialisms such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, or Graphics welcomed)

  • Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons

  • Contribute to curriculum development and the continued improvement of the department

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-organised workshop environment

  • Assess, track, and report on student progress effectively

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Design and Technology

  • Ability to motivate and challenge students of all abilities

  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning

  • ECTs and experienced teachers are both encouraged to apply
