Job description

Make a Difference: Become a 1:1 Maths & English Tutor

Are you passionate about Maths or English? Do you have experience supporting children in their learning? We’re seeking enthusiastic individuals to deliver 1:1 tuition across KS1–KS4 in preparation for the new academic year.

At TP Tutors, this is your chance to make a real difference by providing personalised, face-to-face support in Maths and English to primary and secondary pupils in your local area.

About the Role:

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 sessions in Maths or English based on each student’s needs

  • Work in pupils' homes, libraries, or safe community venues

  • Support children needing to catch up, build confidence, or reinforce core skills

  • Track progress, address learning gaps, and set achievable goals

  • Keep learners engaged with creative, supportive teaching

  • Use positive behaviour strategies to create focused, productive sessions

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people (in education preferred)

  • Confident teaching Maths and/or English at KS1–KS4

  • Ability to adapt lessons to various learning styles and abilities

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Passion for helping young people grow academically and personally

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply – we can assist)

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
