Support Worker - New Forest

We are exclusively working with a Secondary SEN provision based in Totton, catering specifically for individuals with complex Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The Special Educational Needs provision is currently seeking Support Assistants for a variety of roles. The school cater for 11 - 19 year old's demonstrating a variety of needs, which are supported in the school.

This provision is currently seeking 2 full time permanent Teaching Assistants as well as some part time and temporary Teaching Assistants. The class sizes are 5 - 6 pupils, supported by a teacher who plans and delivers sessions and 2 - 3 Support Staff, who work in collaboration to support the educational development of residents. Due to the needs of the pupils all candidates must be able to offer personal care and any SEN training such as Makaton, Moving and Handling, Team Teach or similar would be an advantage.

The ideal candidate would have experience working with SEN, this could be personal or professional experience and with adults or children. Candidates without experience but a passion to work with SEN would also be considered as there would be a lot of training offered. You must be able to use your initiative and be prepared to get fully involved in the role.

The role will operate during the week days (Monday - Friday), between the hours of 08.30 - 16.30. This will give applicants the opportunity to earn, £9.00 per hour, with potential to increase dependent on experience and qualifications.
