Support Worker
Job description

Teaching Personnel are excited to be recruiting on behalf of a setting in Sherborne, Dorset that cater for young people with EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties).
This small and friendly home is looking for individuals who are committed to making a positive difference and seeing young people's lives turned around. You could help young people by giving them an opportunity to see life differently, change their perspective and add a little light in that tunnel.
This work is not for the fainthearted but for those who are emotionally resilient, non-judgemental, understanding and patient. The home can cater for up to 3 young people at any one time, currently they have 2 residents.
This role involves motivating and supporting the young people to live independently and build on their social skills. You may be at the home, in the community, taking the young people on scheduled trips with family and friends or taking them to pre-planned activities. Because of this we are looking for individuals that can drive, are adaptable and flexible.
This is a permanent position with fantastic training opportunities including an NVQ Level 3 and progression to team leader/manager within the company.
There is shift work involved with this role. Normally you would be expected to work 8am - 11pm; you would then sleep at the home and repeat this the next day. Essentially you would be working 48 hours on, followed by 4 days off and this would be on a rolling rota HOWEVER, the manager of the home has said she does not want anybody to be put off by these hours and for the right candidate, would consider set days, slightly shorter hours etc.
Click apply now or call in branch and ask to speak with Lauren, to find out more information.
