About the role:

To work in the residential area, providing guidance, support and encouragement to young people. The job involves enabling young people to develop by providing physical and emotional support. Some of your duties may include:

• Building professional relationships with young people and staff
• Learning about the individual needs of the young people and meet those needs following policies and procedures
• To support the young people in maintaining their personal cleanliness, general hygiene and appearance
• To assist or be a key worker for 1 or more young person as required

Based near Blandford Forum

The School is a 38-52 week school and home for children and young people diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

Located in the glorious Dorset countryside with 28 acres of land for play and relaxation, the school boasts of many facilities such as a theatre, sports hall, indoor and outdoor riding areas, climbing wall, multiple safe play areas and a swimming pool.

What are we looking for?

Applicants who are looking to work night shifts (waking nights). We have various contract types available including permanent, temporary and flexible.

You do not need to have any experience working in a similar position, as long as you have the ability to participate in training and development, the ability to work as directed and complete tasks reliably and are able to communicate clearly with young people and others, then you will be considered. What is most important is that you have a confident and compassionate personality with a great sense of humour.

This job also appeals to students as the Care Managers are happy to let you complete coursework, once your duties in the home are complete.

This school is not easily accessed by public transport so it is essential you have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
