Support Worker – Primary School Teaching Assistant
Location: Macclesfield
Start Date: Immediate / September
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
Salary: £90–£100 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role:

We're working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Macclesfield that is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join their team. This role will see you transition your existing care and support skills into an education setting as a Teaching Assistant, providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to children with additional needs.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Supporting pupils with SEND or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
  • Working closely with class teachers and SENCO to adapt learning strategies
  • Helping children engage with classroom activities and develop key life skills
  • Encouraging confidence, independence, and a love of learning

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

✅ Experience working with children and/or vulnerable adults
✅ A background in residential care, youth work, or support services (highly desirable)
✅ Patience, empathy, and strong behaviour management skills
✅ A proactive, team-focused attitude
✅ A genuine passion for helping young learners thrive

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
