A warm, welcoming, and supportive secondary school in Birmingham is seeking dedicated Behaviour Mentors and 1:1 SEND Support Staff to join their team. This is a full-time position offering a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
About the Role:
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with a range of needs, particularly those with SEND and behavioural challenges. You will work closely with students on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings, helping to build positive relationships, boost engagement, and support their learning and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:

Providing tailored 1:1 support for students with SEND
-
Supporting pupils with behaviour management and social development
-
Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
-
Helping students access learning and reach their full potential
-
Maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
-
Experience working with children or young people in schools, alternative provisions, or residential care settings
-
A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting behaviour and emotional needs
-
A relevant degree-level qualification (desirable but not essential)
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
