Teaching Personnel, the UK’s leading education recruitment agency, is currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to work across Secondary Schools and Additional Learning Needs (ALN) settings in the Pembrokeshire area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people in their education journey, both academically and socially, within supportive school environments.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide classroom support to pupils aged 11–16, including those with Additional Learning Needs.

• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

• Work with small groups and individuals to promote learning and personal development.

• Support pupils with varying needs, including learning difficulties, social and emotional challenges, and behavioural needs.

• Help maintain a positive and safe learning environment, ensuring safeguarding is prioritised.

• Contribute to both academic and personal growth of pupils through tailored support.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly within education or care settings (desirable).

• An understanding of Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and strategies to support learners.

• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff.

• Flexibility to adapt to different school environments.

• A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities in education.

• Full-time availability is preferred, but part-time work is also available.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
