Teaching Personnel work closely with between 5 - 9 different secondary schools in the Altrincham area who have found that their requirements for supply teachers have significantly increased during the past 2 weeks. As a result, there is a need for supply teachers who are available to cover lessons and teach across the age and subject range. The role of a supply teacher is to deliver pre-planned work set by the school’s permanent teacher.

Supply teaching would suit:

  • Newly qualified teachers looking for flexible, temporary teaching work
  • Fully qualified teachers who are available for specific days, whether it be part time or full time
  • Teachers who are available for a short period of time before another engagement for example
  • Any teachers who are looking for their next full time, long term or permanent teaching position as supply gives you the chance to try schools out before applying for roles
    • Supply teaching on a temporary basis can also often lead to longer term roles given short term requirements becoming longer term needs

Teaching Personnel offer a competitive pay rate for supply teaching with their being numerous other benefits. Generally, planning and marking isn’t required as part of the role of a supply teacher allowing you to arrive at school for 8:30 – 9am and finish at the end of the school day (usually around 3pm). Working in close partnership with a national teaching school in Manchester, offers heavily subsidised professional development courses through Teaching Personnel’s CPD Academy. You will also benefit from access to an online portal where you can manage your own diary, availability and browse a number of upcoming relevant positions.

The schools working with Teaching Personnel currently in the area of Altrincham, Trafford are typically academic and reputable within the local area. As a result, behaviour is of a good standard at these schools with students being highly engaged in their learning giving the relevant supply teachers pleasant options in terms of schools to cover at.
