Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
There is a high demand for supply teachers at this time of year, given the number of pre-planned and unplanned absences within secondary schools. If you are a qualified teacher of any experience level, including newly qualified or on the upper pay scale, then please apply now for immediate consideration.
The role of a supply teacher is to cover lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher ensuring students remain on task and engaged. The work is already planned and will be marked by the permanent class teacher providing flexibility for the supply teacher. There is a requirement to be adaptable and flexible in your nature as a supply teacher as plans can sometimes change last minute.
Key aspects of the supply teacher role:
- Day to day pay GBP95 - GBP130 per day depending on school and subject specialism
- Fully flexible for part time, temporary and full time positions
- Options to teach subject specialism or offer general cover
- Day to day assignments, short – medium term of around 1 – 3 weeks and also longer term opportunities
As the spring term starts, schools in the South Manchester area find themselves inundated with cover requirements as many of them have an in-house no cover rule. There is the opportunity to teach in a variety of secondary schools gaining experience of different school environments, networking with different schools professionals and getting a feel for a variety of behaviour strategies and school policies. This role provides flexibility in being able to teach on days you are available but also a chance to test out different schools in the local area.
These schools are easily accessible via the M60 ring road for those teachers who drive. For those on public transport, there are plenty of schools which are accessible via public transport with buses servicing schools as well as the local metrolink running from Altrincham to the city centre of Manchester.
