Supply Teacher

Date posted : 04/02/21
£100 - 600 per week

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Day to day flexible teaching opportunities:

Teaching Personnel’s central Manchester based schools have found that they required an influx of supply teachers during the course of the first term when schools were open. This was as a result of an increased number of absences at school both planned and unplanned. The pandemic increased the need for supply teachers and as a result, looking ahead to when schools will reopen on 8th March or thereafter, the need is expected to increase dramatically once again.

Working with many secondary schools in the central Manchester area we found ourselves inundated with requests on a daily basis as well as for block placements to cover sickness, jury services and operational cover for example.

If you are a teacher who has resigned from their position or find yourself available for particular days in the week and would like flexible day to day supply teaching without any planning and marking responsibilities then apply now for immediate consideration.

Highlights of the supply teaching role:

  • No planning and marking responsibilities
  • Pay will range between GBP100 - GBP120 per day depending on the school and LEA
  • Teach at a variety of secondary schools in the central Manchester area
    • Depending on preference; be considered for specific schools we work closely with
    • Teach at a number of schools in the Longsight, Ardwick, Levenshulme, Chorlton and Stretford areas
    • Provide general cover and also teach your specialist subject
    • Complete flexibility over your own availability and access to Teaching Personnel’s online diary and portal

We have found schools request teachers proactively and reactively depending on their requirements. They will often ask for teachers, booking them in advance with notice and also have requirements for booking teachers on the morning between 7am and 8am. If you are interested in being available for either of the above, then highlight this on your application.

As the schools we work in the central Manchester area are plentiful, there are many options for those teachers that drive as well as those that are on public transport. Schools that use a lot of supply cover are accommodating to teachers, with parking being provided as well as continuity for teachers that get on well at schools.

If you are a teacher of any experience level looking for flexible supply teaching when schools reopen then apply now with your contact details for a return phone call to discuss.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
