Supply Teacher – SEND Schools
Location:
Salary: Competitive daily rates
Contract Type: Flexible / Temporary / Day-to-Day

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities?

We are currently seeking supply teachers to work across a range of specialist schools in County Durham. This is an excellent opportunity to gain diverse experience, develop your skills, and provide vital support to pupils who need it most.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Support students with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and PMLD
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and school staff to create a positive learning environment
  • Manage classroom behaviour with empathy and understanding
  • Adapt quickly to different settings and age groups

    Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience working with SEND pupils (desirable, but not essential)
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • A flexible, proactive approach and a genuine passion for inclusive education
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
