Outdoor Education Assistant

Teaching personnel are looking to appoint a keen and motivated outdoor education assistant to work in a vibrant and passionate SEN school provision. We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for working with pupils with social and emotional needs, particularly children with ASD and SEMH.

The applicant will need to be focused and able to manage pupil behaviour positively. Candidates should be highly experienced with a natural ability to work within the staff environment. You will be expected to have previous experience of working with children in the outdoor education and learning sector.

Daily tasks include creating an organised and active environment, supporting pupils in their learning under the direction of the outdoor education teacher and create a sense of challenge and growth mindset for learning in the outdoors.

Essential Skills:

  • Knowledge of SEMH needs
  • Behaviour management
  • Experience of working with young people in the outdoors
  • Working as part of a team
  • Maths and English qualifications

Key points:

  • Monday – Friday 8:30am – 3:30pm SUPPLY BASIS WHEN NEEDED
  • Level 3 driver

Any outdoor or health and safety qualifications are desirable but training opportunities in outdoor education can be undertaken.

To work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £38 plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
