Supply/Cover Supervisor – Ideal for ECTs

Location: Plymouth
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Daily Rate: £120 – £145 (based on experience)
Start Date: Flexible – Immediate work available

Are you an ECT looking for classroom experience before your first teaching role in September?

This is a great opportunity to gain paid, hands-on experience in secondary schools across Plymouth while maintaining flexibility and building confidence in behaviour management and classroom delivery.

The Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be:

  • Supervising pre-set lessons in the absence of teaching staff

  • Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a safe, productive learning environment

  • Supporting students with their learning and keeping them on task

  • Reporting any issues to the relevant staff at the end of the day

 

Who This Role Is Perfect For:

  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) wanting experience in a school environment before September

  • Individuals with some experience working with young people, ideally in a school, tutoring, or youth setting

  • Confident, adaptable professionals who can step into a range of subjects and year groups

Requirements:

  • Degree or relevant qualification (QTS not essential for this role, but ideal for ECTs)

  • Strong classroom presence and communication skills

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)

  • Availability between 8:30am – 3:30pm
