We are looking for a Permanent Subject Leader for Science (Key Stage 3) to work full-time hours, starting in September 2025.

As Subject Leader for Science (Key Stage 3), you'll lead curriculum development, implement innovative teaching, ensure effective assessments, and promote a positive learning environment. You’ll collaborate with the Head of Department, manage resources, and inspire a love of science while supporting staff development and student progress.

Job Duties:

  • Lead the Science department for Key Stage 3
  • Develop and implement the Science curriculum in line with national guidelines
  • Monitor and assess student progress in Science
  • Provide guidance and support to Science teachers
  • Organise and oversee Science-related events and activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialism in Science education
  • Bachelor's degree in Science Education or related field

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the national Science curriculum
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to mentor and support colleagues

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
