Teaching Assistant – Sports Focus (Carmarthen Area)
Full-time and Part-time opportunities available

Teaching Personnel, the UK’s leading education recruitment agency, is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants with a strong interest or background in sports to join schools in the Carmarthen area. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils both inside and outside the classroom, helping to inspire learning through sport and active engagement.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant with a focus on sports, you will:

  • Support pupils in both classroom learning and practical sports activities.

  • Assist in delivering indoor and outdoor education sessions.

  • Accompany and support pupils on offsite trips and activities.

  • Encourage participation, teamwork, and personal development through sport.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils meet their learning goals.

  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards at all times.

Requirements

  • A strong interest or experience in sports, coaching, or physical education.

  • Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential).

  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport.

  • A clear understanding of safeguarding in education.

  • Flexibility and willingness to support a range of activities both in and out of the classroom.

  • Full-time availability is preferred, but part-time opportunities are also available.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
