Sporty Teaching Assistant

Pay Rate: £89.38 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Start ASAP
About the Role
Teaching Personnel is seeking a full-time Sporty Teaching Assistant to provide 2:1 support for a male pupil at one of our partner secondary schools in the Caldicot area.
This is a rewarding role for someone resilient, patient, and motivated to help young people thrive. You’ll play a key role in supporting a young person with challenging behaviours, providing consistency, encouragement, and understanding to help them stay focused, motivated, and confident throughout the school day.
While not essential, an interest in sport is desirable. Due to the student’s challenging behaviours, they respond well to physical activity as a way of building trust and encouraging engagement. The role is primarily classroom-based, with the added opportunity to use sport as a tool to boost participation and keep the pupil actively involved in school life.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a young person, while gaining valuable school-based experience that could be the first step towards a career in education, coaching, or youth work.

- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN and challenging behaviours (desirable)

Requirements
Teaching Personnel can provide guidance to help you obtain:
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service
- At least two professional references covering the past two years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
