Sporty Behaviour Support Worker
Location: Carmarthen
Hours: 8:30 – 3:30
Salary: £13.75 per hour
Teaching Personnel are working closely with an alternative provision unit in Carmarthen to recruit individuals with a sports background, whether that be coaching or a hobby in some form of sports, who are also interested in building a career within education.
No level of qualification is needed but relevant experience or background is desirable, if you are looking to gain school-based experience, support young people and explore potential pathways into PE instruction, pastoral roles or behaviour support this could be the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Use sport and physical activities to support behaviour management and engagement
- Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring
- Support pupils to develop teamwork, discipline, confidence, and coping strategies
- Work closely with teaching staff and support teams to implement behaviour strategies
- Act as a positive role model at all times
- Support pupils during lessons, break times and structured activities as required
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment
Requirements
- Experience working with children and young people with behavioural, emotional or additional learning needs
- Understanding of trauma-based behaviour
- Team Teach trained (we can help with)
- Strong interest in sport, fitness or physical activity
- Ability to motivate and engage challenging learners
- Hold an Enhanced DBS (or able to obtain one)
- EWC Registration
- Driving License (preferred)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
