Behaviour Mentor (Key Stage 2)

Location: Carmarthen
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £89.38 per day

About the Role

Teaching Personnel are seeking a strong-minded, resilient, and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to work within one of our provisions in the Carmarthen area. This role involves supporting Key Stage 2 pupils who may present with challenging behaviour, social and emotional needs, or barriers to learning.

The successful candidate will be adaptable and proactive, able to respond effectively to both the curriculum and individual pupil needs. You will play a vital role in creating a nurturing, inclusive, and trauma-informed environment, supporting pupils to engage positively with learning and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support to pupils displaying challenging behaviour
  • Work closely with teaching staff to promote positive behaviour and engagement
  • Effectively manage behaviour to maintain a focused and safe learning environment
  • Create a calm, supportive, and nurturing setting for all pupils
  • Support pupils to develop confidence, resilience, and essential life skills
  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group mentoring sessions

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with challenging behaviour
  • Confidence, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in difficult situations
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
  • A compassionate, approachable nature with strong relationship-building skills
  • Trauma-informed training (desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Enhanced DBS (child workforce) or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
