Sports Graduates Wanted - Classroom coaching and Support - CF5

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a school in Cardiff who are looking for exceptional Teaching Assistants. Previously, we have employed Sports graduates into this position, and as these individuals have done very well in the past, the school is specifically looking for Sports graduates to utilise their skills to be teaching assistants who are also keen to enhance their coaching experience.

The role involves supporting secondary school pupils with special educational needs. Specifically, you will be working in both the SEN base of the school as well and supporting pupils in a mainstream classroom on a one to one basis as a teaching assistant.

The ideal candidate will be resilient and innovative, able to support the teacher maintain an effective learning space. The pupils can benefit from positive role models and graduates who have showcased an expertise in sports and coaching have made a hugely positive impact on these pupils.

The School

The school is situated in West Cardiff. A recent Estyn report has highlighted issues such as behavioural ethos which need to be addressed. Subsequent inspections have praised the school and its faculty for its commitment to implementing positive changes under new leadership. The number of pupils achieving A*-C grade in core subjects at GCSE have already greatly improved.

The school also boasts a new state of the art sports facility, complete with a football pitch, swimming pool and tennis court which will give sports graduates the perfect opportunity to host lunchtime and afterschool clubs.
