Sports Graduate – Teaching Assistant
Location: Brecon
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay Rate: From £82.51 - £90 per day
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Are you a recent Sports Graduate or experienced coach looking to kick-start a rewarding career in education? A respected and inclusive secondary school in Brecon is seeking a passionate and proactive individual to support students aged 11–18 who require additional academic and emotional assistance.
About the Role:
As a Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with pupils either one-to-one or in small groups, providing tailored support to enhance their educational experience. With a strong emphasis on using sport as a tool for engagement and personal development, you’ll have the opportunity to utilise your skills in football, rugby, cricket, tennis, and more as part of intervention strategies both in and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with classroom setup and support the lead teacher with lesson preparation.
- Provide focused support to pupils needing additional help.
- Engage students through extra-curricular activities, including sports, arts & crafts, and educational outings.
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that encourages confidence and growth.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young people.
- Strong interpersonal and time-management skills.
- Passionate about sport, education, and youth development.
- Experience in coaching or a background in sports is highly desirable but not essential.
Essential Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS check registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain).
- EWC registration (or willingness to apply).
- Two recent references demonstrating your suitability for working with children.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
- Safeguarding Level 2 certification (can be provided free of charge by Teaching Personnel).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
