Sports Coaches- Cover Supervisors- Secondary school

Teaching Personnel are working in close partnership with several schools across Wigan, St Helens and Warrington to source the support of people with a sports coaching background to work as Cover Supervisors on a flexible basis. This is to cover both PE lessons and across other subject areas.

Benefits-

  • Regular, on-going work that is flexible around your current commitments! (if you are coaching in the evening etc).
  • The opportunity to utilise your skillset of being able to engage young people in a formal educational setting.
  • To use your sports coaching experience to make an impact within both practical and theoretical lessons.
  • To broaden your experiences by covering in other subject areas by delivering pre-set work and making sure the pupils are on task in lessons.

The role of a Cover Supervisor within a secondary school is a varied one which involves both leading full classes and supporting in others. When you are leading full classes, your primary duty is to give out pre-set work and make sure the pupils remain on task through effective behaviour management e.g. overcoming any barriers or apathy to learning through being able to build rapport with pupils effectively.

Being a Cover Supervisor is very rewarding as you will be able to network for any future positions that may arise. It is also the perfect preparation for any aspiring teachers as the experience gained can be used to support a PGCE application.

Teaching Personnel are the preferred choice of agency for many of the schools across Wigan, St Helens and Warrington meaning that there will be a variety of schools you will be able to work at. Further, many that we work with are easily accessible on public transport also.

To register your interest in this type of work, please send your full CV to Paul via the link below. Alternatively, to discuss these roles in further detail, please contact the Manchester West Secondary branch directly.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
