As we approach the end of the academic year, our client schools are starting to advertise for permanent positions to start in the new term.
We work with a number of Pupil Referral Units which cater to students currently excluded from mainstream school.
These students often have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs therefore the curriculum they follow is heavily based around vocational activities such as sports, and functional skills.
We are looking to hire Teaching Assistants to work in these provisions, on a full time basis in the new School year. You can expect there to be a heavy behaviour management focus, however, it's important to inspire and motivate the students to make the correct choices in terms of their education and future. We are looking for people that are able to make a positive impact on the lives of young people and a proven track record of building and developing relationships with young people.
To be considered to be put forward for September roles you must have;
- Specialism in one of the following areas: Sports, Art, Drama, Functional Skills, Health and Beauty, Construction and Business
- Experience in behaviour management or working with SEMH needs
- The ability to inspire and motivate young people
- A proven track record of effective behaviour management skills and developing positive relationships with young people.
The Candidate
Ideally you will have a flexible nature and be prepared to cover across all years where needed. Your role will be supporting with behaviour management and to engage and interact with the children to enable them access the curriculum fully. The school is committed to work together with everyone involved in the life of their pupils and school. In addition, any of the following skills or qualifications would be desirable to the role:
- School based SEN experience
- Makaton experience or BSL (to any level)
- An empathetic and caring personality
What we can provide
Teaching Personnel are education specialists with 23 years experience in the field. You will be provided with your own specialist consultant who will take care of your needs and advise you through the clearing and work process. You will have access to free safeguarding training and an online diary so you can manage your work times more efficiently. You will also have access to our CPD Academy, in which you will be able to attend training courses in order to aid your personal development in your career.
