Sports Coach
A specialist provision in the Preston area is looking for a Sports Coach to join their fantastic team. This provision provides full-time education for pupils aged 5 to 16 years who have struggled to access the curriculum in a mainstream school. This extremely proud provision maintains high expectations and strives to provide the best education possible for their pupils, re-engaging them with learning and ensuring their special educational needs are identified and understood.
As a Sports Coach you will be required to deliver tailored sports sessions to small groups of pupils and in some cases, on a 1:1 basis. Responsibilities within this role will be a combination of general support duties as well as sports coaching.
Requirements:
- Have a Sports related background/qualification.
- Experience/confidence with handling challenging behaviour.
- A genuine passion for working with and supporting pupils with SEMH.
- Able to remain calm in high pressure environments.
- Ability to support pupils on a 1-1 basis as well as in small groups.
- Develop communication and interaction, personal, social, emotional and academic skills.
- Must be positive and solution focussed.
Important information:
- Location: Burnley and surrounding areas.
- Start date: May 2024.
- Contract type: Temp-perm / temporary.
- Working hours: Full time (8:30am-3:30pm, Mon-Fri)
- Pay rate: £13.00 - £15.25 p/h.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
