SEN/SEMH Schools | Chorley & Skelmersdale Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Available September 2026 Start

Are you a passionate Sports Coach, Behaviour Mentor or Youth Worker looking to make a real difference in young people's lives?

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and resilient Sports Coaches & Behaviour Specialists to support pupils within a range of SEN (Special Educational Needs) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) schools across Chorley and Skelmersdale.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in sports coaching, mentoring, youth work, residential care or behavioural support who are looking to transition their skills into an educational setting.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom.
  • Building positive relationships and acting as a strong role model.
  • Delivering sports-based engagement activities and promoting participation.
  • Managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
  • Supporting students' social, emotional and academic development.
  • Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Ideal Candidates Will Have

  • Experience coaching sports, leading activities or mentoring young people.
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working with SEN, SEMH, behaviour support or vulnerable young people is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people to reach their full potential.
