Specialist Teaching Assistant - Oldham

Are you a Teaching Assistant with experience of working with young people with ADHD?

Due to a restructuring of the support staff at one of our client secondary schools in Oldham, Teaching Personnel require a Teaching Assistant with experience of working with students who have ADHD for an immediate start. This role is due to last until the end of the academic year in the first instance, with it continuing thereafter for the perfect candidate.

  • Full time Specialist Teaching Assistant position required ASAP
  • Role until the end of the academic year in the first instance
  • 1:1 supporting a student with ADHD
  • Earn up to £1300 per month, paid weekly

Our client school located in the Uppermill area of Oldham is an oversubscribed mixed secondary school with a dedicated and supported SEN department. With over 1300 students enrolled from the surrounding areas of Mossley, Saddleworth and Denshaw, this Ofsted graded 'Good' school has an excellent reputation in the local community, renowned for delivering a fantastic learning experience. Located a short walk from a local train station and being accessible from the M60 motorway from both Oldham and Ashton-under-Lyne, this oversubscribed and popular secondary school is reachable from across Greater Manchester.

"When a student is identified as having SEND, we use specific needs based plans, pupil profiles and resources which help support their development, address areas of concern and increase progress. The school has developed a dedicated SEND and Student Support Team with a variety of skills and knowledge to support students." SENCO.

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant at our partner school, you will be supporting a student who has ADHD on a 1:1 basis. This will include assisting the student during their lessons, as well as delivering pre-set work to them in the school's dedicated 'Learning Base' whilst liaising with the class teachers. Experience of working alongside learners with ADHD is desirable but not essential for this role. Prospective candidates who have previously worked with students with a range of Special Educational Needs are encouraged to apply for this highly reward and exciting role.

If you would like to apply for this post as an Intervention Teacher please apply via the link below or send an updated CV to Chris Beckenham at Manchester North Secondary directly, alternatively call on the number provided for further information.
