Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Are you an individual who is passionate about making learning accessible for children of all abilities? Do you have previous experience in supporting others? Would you like to make a real difference to the lives of young people?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then Teaching Personnel would like to hear from you! We are looking for Teaching Assistants to support children with Special Educational Needs in the Rotherham area. You will be employed by Teaching Personnel and would gain valuable experience working in the local schools we support. You will be paid weekly, earning between ÂŁ50-ÂŁ65 per day.

You will make a difference to the lives of young people with varying degrees of needs; these could include learning difficulties, physical disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, or communication and interaction difficulties.

You will be supporting the children, whose ages can range from 5-18, in and around the classroom to ensure they are getting the best out of their time in school. You will create strong and trusting relationships with students, supporting them with school work and their personal development.

You may be required to assist the children with personal care and their movement around school.

Requirements:

  • A Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
  • Previous experience supporting others ( e.g. individuals with SEN or in care homes)
  • A driving license is preferable as you may be required to travel between locations
  • Safeguarding awareness

Additional training goes a long way in these roles. Due to anxieties within the classroom, some children may display challenging behaviour. Teaching Personnel run a termly Team Teach course which helps identify triggers and focuses on positive de-escalation techniques. We also have an online CPD Academy where you can access numerous courses to further your own personal development.

If this roles sounds the perfect fit for you, then send an up to date CV or click APPLY now.
