A special school in Oxford are currently looking for teaching assistants to join their friendly and supportive team. The school caters for Primary and Secondary aged pupils who have a wide range of additional needs, mainly Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.

The school has a child focused approach and believes in fitting the curriculum to the child by tailoring the school day to each pupil’s specific needs. They are looking for individuals who are flexible and adaptable because of this. They are also looking for someone who will enable communication, physical, social and emotional development for each individual.

The school can offer:

Support from an experienced and welcoming staff team

Additional training throughout the school year

Extensive facilities on site to give a variety of learning experiences and routines

You will be:

Experienced in supporting children with Special Educational Needs

Able to build positive relationships with both pupils and parents

Enthusiastic and eager to support wherever needed

Hardworking and committed to the school’s values and ethos

Experience of working with children is essential for this role, and a good level of fitness is required as you will be on the go throughout the school day and may be required to take part in manual handling procedures.
