Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant
Salary: 10.77 per hour
Working hours: 8:30am-3:30pm (Monday to Friday)
Duration: 5th September 2022 – 18th July 2023
Are you looking for a new challenge as a professional educator?
Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit a passionate and determined individual on the behalf of a reputable English medium school located in the CF14 area. As the position is specifically on a 1-2-1 basis with a child with autism, the role would particularly suit someone who has professional or personal experience with children with additional needs. The child needs help with numeracy and literacy as well as social interaction in larger groups. It is important that the candidate can provide a calm and relaxed atmosphere whilst also being enthusiastic to help children reach their full learning potential.
Main responsibilities of the role:
- 1-2-1 support for the child in the classroom and potentially during lunch time
- De-escalate situations when necessary
- Work alongside the teacher to ensure adequate support is being given to the child
- Encourage inclusion with all pupils in the class
- Boost engagement with class work
- Expectation of working with smaller groups of children
The ideal candidate would:
- Have a positive attitude
- Have their own initiative in order to deal with potential difficult situations
- Be able to build strong professional relationships with pupils
- Always be prepared to support the teacher to elevate productivity in the classroom
- Have some professional or personal experience with special educational needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
