A highly reputable school in Braintree, Essex, is seeking a dedicated and reliable School Caretaker to join their permanent staff from September 2024. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the school's facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily maintenance and cleanliness of the school buildings and grounds.
- Carry out routine inspections and minor repairs.
- Manage security, including the opening and closing of the school premises.
- Liaise with external contractors for larger maintenance tasks.
- Ensure health and safety standards are consistently met.
- Assist with setting up rooms and equipment for school events and activities.
- Respond promptly to any emergencies or urgent maintenance issues.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a caretaking or maintenance role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Practical skills in general maintenance and repair work.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Flexibility to work outside regular hours when needed.
