Job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Teaching Assistant to support students aged 16–18 within a specialist further education setting. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, working 8.45am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. You will be working in an outstanding specialist college set within spacious, peaceful surroundings.

The setting is known for:

  • Strong focus on independence, life skills and preparation for adulthood

  • A collaborative, professional team with excellent leadership

 

Learners have a range of Special Educational Needs, including: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Communication and sensory processing difficulties and Associated learning and developmental needs

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced classroom and pastoral support

  • Mentor and guide students towards independence and employability skills

  • Support learning programmes and lead small group activities

  • Work closely with teaching staff and external professionals

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting young people with SEN needs

  • Experience in senior or specialist TA roles is highly desirable

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the rural location

  • A calm, confident and proactive approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
