Job description

We are recruiting a caring and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 3–18 with a range of Special Educational Needs. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, working 8.45am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. You will be working in a highly regarded specialist education setting set within spacious, peaceful grounds. The school is known for:

Pupils present with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe and complex learning difficulties, Communication and sensory processing needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support tailored to individual pupils

  • Assist with learning, personal care and emotional regulation

  • Encourage engagement, confidence and independence

  • Work closely with teachers and specialist staff

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months childcare experience, especially supporting children with SEN needs

  • Experience supporting complex or additional needs is highly desirable

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the school’s location

  • A patient, resilient and compassionate approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
