Contract: Full-time, Temporary (with potential for permanent)

About the Role
We are excited to be recruiting passionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools across the Wirral. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them overcome challenges and achieve their full potential academically and personally.
Role Overview
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalised support to students with a variety of SEND needs, including those displaying challenging behaviours. You’ll work both 1:1 and in small groups, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.
This is a full-time, temporary role until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate. It’s an excellent chance to develop your skills and experience while making a genuine impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND.
- Adapt learning approaches to meet individual needs and styles.
- Support students with behavioural challenges, promoting positive strategies for self-regulation.
- Collaborate with teachers to modify resources and ensure full engagement in lessons.
- Track and report student progress, sharing insights with teachers and the SENDCO.
- Promote an inclusive, positive environment that encourages learning and personal growth.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in education, youth work, or care settings.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting challenging behaviours.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
- A proactive, enthusiastic approach and a genuine passion for supporting SEND students.
- A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Commitment to helping students succeed in an inclusive environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
