Day Rate: £100 - £150 (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Job Description:

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs to reach their full potential? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Milton Keynes is seeking a committed and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

With a high percentage of pupils eligible for pupil premium and a significant number with SEND (particularly in communication and interaction), the school provides a supportive, child-centred environment where progress and wellbeing go hand in hand.

Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEND in both classroom and one-to-one settings, promoting independence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of personalised learning activities.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour and respond to incidents in line with school policy.
  • Work with teaching staff to monitor progress and provide clear, regular feedback.
  • Build strong relationships with families and professionals to ensure effective pupil support.
  • Contribute positively to the school’s ethos and inclusive culture.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly in communication and interaction.
  • A caring, adaptable communication style and ability to build pupil trust.
  • Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and promoting child welfare.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with staff and external agencies.
  • Willingness to engage in training and continuous professional development.
  • Basic ICT skills and a proactive approach to learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
