Salary: £180- 250 per day (Based on Market Standards)

We are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary school in the Greenwich area. The school caters for students aged 3 to 11 with a range of physical disabilities, as well as associated learning and communication needs. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity to be part of a nurturing, inclusive environment where students are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and resilience.

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with physical and complex needs
  • Assist with mobility, personal care, and use of special techniques.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals to meet EHCP outcomes
  • Support students in accessing a broad, balanced, and engaging curriculum
  • Build strong, trusting relationships that help students thrive socially and emotionally
  • Promote student independence while maintaining high levels of care and safety

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with students with special needs in schools or a transferable setting.
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach to support and behaviour
  • Confidence in assisting with personal care or medical routines (or willingness to train)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
