SEND Teaching Assistant – Chard
£90–£100 per day | Full-time | ASAP start

Teaching Personnel is looking for an experienced and motivated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist independent school in Chard, Somerset. The school supports children and young people with autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, and other additional learning needs. With small class sizes and a therapeutic approach, staff focus on building confidence, independence and social skills alongside learning.

Details

  • Start date: ASAP

  • Pay: £90–£100 per day (dependent on experience)

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday

Key responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND

  • Assist with tailored learning activities and behaviour support

  • Encourage positive engagement, resilience and personal development

  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to meet individual needs

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential due to rural location)

  • Resilience, patience and a genuine passion for helping pupils succeed
