Job description

Do you want to make education accessible for all students? Secondary schools across Oldham are looking for SEND Support Assistants to work with pupils with special educational needs from September 2025, with flexibility for earlier starts.

You will support pupils both in mainstream classrooms and in smaller settings, helping them navigate barriers to learning and thrive socially and academically.

Duties include:

  • Providing one-to-one and group support

  • Assisting with differentiated learning

  • Liaising with SENCOs and specialist teams

  • Contributing to EHCP reviews and reports

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience with SEND (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, etc.)

  • A nurturing and proactive approach

  • Strong interpersonal skills

    Training is available, and we welcome applications from candidates with personal experience or a keen interest in special education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
