SENCO – Enfield

The school are rapidly improving as recognised by Ofsted in November 2018, and as they continue their journey from “GOOD” to “Outstanding” with good leadership, management and an excellent behaviour policy. The successful candidate will have a great opportunity to build upon the excellent work of the current, temporarily placed SENCO who is leaving the school to continue their career in education in other areas of the world.

Permanent Contract available from September 2020

Teachers meet the needs of students who have SEN well. There is good liaison between classroom teachers, teaching assistants and the SEN coordinator. This helps to ensure that students are able to make good progress from their starting points. Students who have SEN are making good progress from their starting points. This is the result of accurate assessment of their needs and close monitoring of progresses.

In a recent survey 100% of staff said they were proud to be a member of staff at The School with 96% stating that they enjoy working there. 96% said that they support the vision of the academy. 

Qualification, Experience and Person Specification

  • Has experience of working with children with Special Needs.
  • Has knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice supports the aims and mission statement of this Catholic School.
  • Has evidence of a clear vision about the future development of teaching and learning of SEND at the school.
  • Is an excellent role model.
  • Is skilful in working with pupils with a range of different abilities and needs - SEND, LAC, Pupil Premium, EAL and G&T.
  • Has experience of supporting the performance of others and leading a team
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills including diplomacy, resilience and strategic thinking
