Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring SEN Tutor specialising in PSHE to join a specialist post-16 educational setting in Yeovil.
This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to support young adults with additional needs as they develop the confidence, independence and life skills needed for adulthood.
This specialist provision supports learners with a range of needs, including autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities, communication differences and associated social and emotional challenges.
The focus is centred on preparing students for successful futures through meaningful learning experiences that extend far beyond traditional academic outcomes.
About the Role
As a PSHE Tutor, you will deliver engaging and practical learning programmes designed to equip students with essential skills for everyday life, further education, employment and independent living.
- Planning and delivering personalised PSHE lessons
- Supporting learners to develop emotional resilience and self-awareness
- Teaching topics such as healthy relationships, wellbeing, personal safety and citizenship
- Encouraging independence, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Creating engaging learning experiences linked to real-life situations
- Monitoring individual progress and maintaining accurate records
- Contributing to learner reviews and target-setting processes
- Working collaboratively with families, support staff and external professionals
- Promoting positive outcomes through a student-centred approach
- Supporting preparation for adulthood pathways and community participation

Previous experience within specialist colleges, alternative provisions, SEN schools or post-16 settings would be highly beneficial.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
