Job description

Become a Maths Tutor with TP Tutors – Support Students Beyond the Classroom

Are you passionate about helping young people succeed in Maths? TP Tutors is looking for committed and caring Maths Tutors to support students who are currently out of mainstream school placements.

About the Role:
As a Maths Tutor with TP Tutors, you will provide tailored 1:1 or small group tuition to students who may be in alternative provision, learning from home, or awaiting a suitable school placement. You’ll play a key role in helping them stay engaged with their education and build confidence in their Maths skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Maths tuition (KS3–KS4, including GCSE)

  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet each student’s specific needs and learning goals

  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to TP Tutors and guardians

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with learners, many of whom face barriers to education

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum up to GCSE level

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or relevant tutoring experience

  • Empathetic, patient, and able to support students with varied educational backgrounds

  • Comfortable working independently and managing a flexible schedule

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
