SEN Teaching Assistants
Job description
re you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have a solid understanding of SEN within a mainstream school setting and school-based experience in the UK? If so, Teaching Personnel would love to hear from you!
About the Role:
Teaching Personnel are currently working with a number of welcoming and inclusive primary and secondary schools across Plymouth who are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their teams. These roles are ideal for individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on the learning and development of pupils with a variety of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties, and SEMH.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to individual students or small groups with SEN.

Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.

Implement and support personalised learning strategies and EHCPs.
-
Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all learners.

Monitor and record pupils' progress and communicate effectively with staff and parents.
About You:
-
You must have recent school-based experience in the UK (essential).
-
A strong understanding of SEN in a mainstream setting.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
-
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
