Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Hounslow, West London

Salary: £190 - 250 per day (dependent on experience)
Starts: September 2025
Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them thrive in a secondary school environment? We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Secondary SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team across West London schools in Hillingdon, Ealing, Hounslow, Harrow, and Brent.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with SEN students to support their learning, social development, and emotional well-being, helping them to reach their full potential. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in young people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to SEN students in and out of the classroom
- Assist teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities
- Support the development of students’ communication, social, and independence skills
- Monitor student progress and report to teaching staff and SEN coordinators
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Assist with behavioural management strategies as needed
Candidate specification:
- Experience working with SEN students in a secondary school setting
- Strong understanding of SEN needs and teaching strategies
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, NVQ, CACHE) are desirable but not essential
- Commitment to supporting inclusion and diversity
All applicants must be willing to undergo vetting checks as part of the school’s commitment to Safeguarding and Anti-bullying. This will include:
- Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through us)
- Two recent references (covering the past 24 months)
- Overseas Police Check (if applicable – for candidates who have lived outside the UK for 3+ months in the past 5 years)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
