SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Yate

Salary: GBP57 - GBP65 a day

Full/Part Time

Teaching personnel is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual who has a passion for working with children with Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). This vibrant school has fantastic facilities that allow pupils to experience a broad and balanced curriculum whilst fostering independence, confidence and inclusion. Your focus as a SEN Teaching Assistant is to support children 1:1 and very small groups, you will ensure that every child realises their potential and support their learning in an individualised and adapted capacity.

Successful SEN Teaching Assistant….

  • Must have a passion or interest in working with children with (PMLD) and (SLD)
  • Experience with SEN and severe learning difficulties is desirable but not essential
  • Comfortable with elements of personal care
  • Possess good behaviour management skills
  • Proactive and happy to self direct
  • Demonstrate effective communication with both children and staff
  • Empathy, Patience and Committed

As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will support children in their learning, progression and development. You will work alongside the class teacher, learning support assistant and an additional TA to ensure each pupil feels supported and capable to show measurable increase in both academic achievement and independence skills. Alongside supporting individuals you will celebrate individuality and diversity of all students and help them to feel true belonging in their learning environment.
