Teaching Assistant wanted in Newbury, to work with a student on a 1:1 basis

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit an experienced SEN TA to work 1:1 with a student who requires additional support within the classroom. The needs of the child are mild and you will mainly be sitting with them during lessons to ensure they remain focused and on task. You will be expected to assist the student with the work set by the classroom Teacher and monitor their progression in order to set your own tasks that encourage learning. You will be working closely with the class teacher and SENCO as well as other support assistance within the classroom to ensure all the children’s needs are met. You will need to provide enthusiasm all day and be motivated to progress within a role

If you are applying for this role, there are a few things we require from you. You must have:

  • Previous experience of working within a SEN setting. This may be youth work, support work, previous school based employment or even working within a care setting. Other experience will be considered upon application.
  • Relevant training such as Behavioural Management, Team Teach and qualifications in SEN courses. Some training can be provided by Teaching Personnel at a discounted rate.
  • References from your two most recent employers.
  • A full driving Licence as transport is limited.
  • A DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one at a cost of GBP40 for the DBS and GBP13 for the Update Service.
