SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with students in a SEND School in Bishop Auckland. The role will commence after Easter (20th April 2020) on a full time, long term basis.

The role will involve supporting students with profound and multiple learning difficulties between the ages of 4 and 11. The students need extra support in their school environment and there will be a small element of personal care involved within the role. The school has excellent facilities that support assistants will have access to within the position, including a sensory room. You may be supporting students with difficulties including:

• Physical impairments
• Complex health needs
• Speech and language difficulties

Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with profound and multiple learning difficulties. This role is ideal for candidates with care work back grounds who are looking to move their career into an educational field. You will be passionate about improving the lives of young people with SEN and have a kind and nurturing personality.

Teaching Personnel can offer support assistant’s competitive pay rates of GBP285 - GBP350 per week, for the right candidate longer term rates can be negotiated on your behalf. This role will commence after February half term on a full time basis until the end of the academic year.
