SEN Teaching Assistant

SEN Teaching Assistant KS2 – Bishopston – Full Time 

Teaching Personnel are seeking a Full Time (Mon-Friday) SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil in Year 4 with ASD and challenging behaviour.

The Role

Previous Experience working with a child with SEN would be advantageous but the role is open to any teaching assistants who would like to develop their SEN knowledge. The student that you will be working with requires full time support during the school day including classroom sessions, on school trips and out of classroom learning. You will be working with the pupil on a 1:1 basis and in small intervention sessions to provide a unique and comfortable learning environment.

This position is in one of our fantastic, highly regarded schools in Bishopston, Bristol. It is close to the Horfield district and boasts fantastic transportation links. The school has a wonderful community feel and received a ‘Good’ grading by Ofsted.

The Desirable Candidate

• Can offer previous Teaching Assistant experience or child based experience of a relevant age group.
• A knowledge or understanding of SEN needs in particular ASD.
• A confident approach to working with children
• An educational background
• An enthusiasm to learn and develop professionally
• An enhanced DBS Teaching Personnel can assist with this.
