Teaching Assistant – Teaching Personnel

St Austell - Cornwall

Salary: GBP65 per day

Closing date: 10th November 2019

Interview dates - 18 and 19 November 2019

We are currently looking to recruit passionate and motivated Learning Support Assistants to work for our company within a school in St Austell. The school require patient and caring individuals who have an enthusiastic approach to supporting learning and will relish the opportunity to help these children with their development both inside and outside of the classroom. The successful applicant will join a well established team and work alongside other professionals to ensure the best education for the children. The school work closely with students with Challenging Behaviour and support both academic and vocational subjects that encourage positive learning within a classroom.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To support the student with their tasks both set by the class teacher and outside of the classroom
  • To work under the direction of the teacher offering support to their lessons
  • To take the pupil off site and promote learning within real life settings
  • To encourage learning, monitor the child’s development and think of new ways to encourage learning to the next level
  • To use behaviour management strategies effectively, that stay in line with the school’s policy
  • To remain professional at all times and represent the school and Teaching Personnel positively.

Person Specification (Essential)

  • Previous experience within a school or child related setting
  • Relevant qualifications and a good knowledge of Maths and English
  • A positive attitude and enthusiastic approach to education
  • To be punctual and professional at all times

Teaching Personnel are dedicated to ensuring all children within schools are safe and therefore will need particular vetting requirements upon registration. These will include; references from your two most recent employers and a DBS on the Update Service (this can be applied for once you have been invited for an interview)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
