SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a part-time Special Education Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to work in Bude with pupils who have learning difficulties, behavioural problems or physical or sensory disabilities. Many of our young people have had a reluctance to engage in education and we are looking for TA’s to change this. Being a SEN TA is both challenging and rewarding and the role is likely to vary hugely on a day to day basis. The tasks which a SEN TA carries out can include:

• Preparing materials, equipment and lessons
• Assessing the individual learning needs and helping to build on this
• Evaluating and reporting pupil's progress to teachers, carers, healthcare professionals and anybody else who helps them
• Positively managing challenging behaviour and dealing with difficult situations
• Liaising with parents, carers and other professionals who work with the pupils
• Supervising activities such as local trips

Full training is given in many areas and additional training can be offered at discounted prices.

• Level three qualification or higher

Licence:

• Driving License (Required)
