Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Locations: Winchester, Andover, Basingstoke, Farnborough, Hook and North Hampshire
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Hours: Full-time (Term-Time Only)
Start Date: September–October 2026
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for Special Needs Teaching Assistants to join specialist schools across Hampshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity to start or develop your career in education within a supportive and rewarding environment. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and reach their individual potential.
Working alongside teachers and other support staff, you will assist with classroom activities, encourage positive behaviour, support pupils with their daily routines, and help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Available Settings
Special Educational Needs (SEN) Schools
Supporting pupils with autism, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, medical needs, and communication difficulties.
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Schools
Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, including those experiencing anxiety, trauma-related needs, or behavioural challenges.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
